i see your point
i dont want to sound like a broke record (*cough*mm*cough*), but the tears for fears song was pretty wack, 80s pop. but the nas song is very chilled out hip hop. thats the point of sampling, take something and make it hot

I think T.I. is developing into a boring artist, his albums get worse for release

It's really crazy how peoples opinions are so different... I hated swagger like us and like almost every other song off the album.

And that Isley brothers ish is crazy... DJ Pooh just straight ripped that song except he didn't keep any of the nice changeups and just made it repeat over and over.
I don't get sampling. Why wouldn't people rather make their own melodies? or beats for that matter?

Using small parts to help your beat sound better or if you can't get any ideas is one thing but ripping a whole beat is something else.. I guess I can kinda understand wanting to expose people to music from past generations in a different format though.

Any advice or feed is appreciated.

From Columbus, OH. If anyone from here lives in my town give me a holler for a collab. Especially if you rap or sing.

That was the most accesible way of making a melody for a beat back in the days... and back in the days it was really hard for the broke MCs to make their own beats (no funds n ish), A loop from a song was the way to make a beat. But now things have changed, and sampling should (and did) evolve too. Cutting small parts now is the most affordable way because there is a big price to pay for samples.

I hope you understand my points.
