Well umm a question i was just wondering about...

I have noticed that some people like certain producers that tracks arn't that good to me. Like I'm not going to name any names on here but LS likes V beats. Like he's his number one fan and says that he makes banger after banger when he to me makes banger then ok then bad then ok then banger then iight then bad then ok, to me... So I'm wondering if I'm making a track and I'm not feeling the track myself , by the way I'm a type of person who if I can't make somthing right now I can't come back to it and finish it up or make it better, should I continue???

you shouldnt judge a track like that, chances are people are going to like the ones you dislike, and not really feel the one you like, anyways i often times come back to a track, its a good idea to master a track, then mix it down, listen to it on different media, your studio monitors, headphones, in the car, on your home stereo system, then let your ears take a break because things do sound different the next day, let that sit in take notes when your listening the day before and just probably have to make a few minor adjustments depending on how good you produced the day before.

peace

Gyea taking a break really does let ya hear your work differently...i've made a beat an thought it was pretty decent then i'd come back to it the next day an then think it was pretty trash so i'd change it up...the last one i made took bout 1 week an a half to make before i was satisfied with it....i'd play it one day think it was cool then the next i wouldn't like the drums or the bass was too loud or the clap didn't sound right lol...as for me, currently only 3 months into makin beats but jus keep workin at what your aimin towards, right now i'm havin the hardest time makin a RnB clubbish beat...i tried workin on it for hrs last night but i jus dun like the melodies i come up with for it...so jus practice practice practice....

You definitely gotta be willing to come back to it at some point at least to mix it all correctly. Believe me, after spending a lot of time making drums and melodies your ears will play tricks on you as to how loud everything should be in the mix.

Any advice or feed is appreciated.

From Columbus, OH. If anyone from here lives in my town give me a holler for a collab. Especially if you rap or sing.

the problem i get is that people keep telling me how good my mainstream beats are (modern R&B, mainstream gangsta beats (for lack of a better name) and krump)
but everytime i make a Soul hip hop beat, wich i luv to make & hear, everyone tells me its wack and asks for more mainstream ones.

so if you made a beat or a start of a beat that you dont feel at all
let some people around you hear it for some feedback.
sometimes a beat that u dont like can still be a really good one.
for example look at soulja boy, everyone who grew up on real hip hop like nas n tupac etc. hates him, but alot of kids loved it and soulja boy still got millions for it. ( i f*ckin HATE soulja boy tho)
