pshhhhhhh saha its only the best there is cause its the only one you've had haha.

For starters, I've went through 4 interfaces.

1. Toneport GX 49.99$
2. Lexicon Omega 199.99$
3. M-Audio 410 Firewire 299.99$
4. Line6 Toneport UX2 129.99$

Im not going to give grade A reviews on all of these products, but I'll do some descriptions. I have nothing negative to say about the Toneport GX. It was perfect just for guitar recording because it had only one IN. I needed to upgrade because I was getting monitors. So, I purchased to the Lexicon Omega. Now this interface looks nice, feels nice, and the box SAYS its nice. But when you want to plug this badboy up and get to recording, its not very nice. The latency is terrible, and if you search this product there will be forums upon forums of HOW CAN I FIX THE LATENCY FOR THE OMEGA!?!?!?! So just one tip, dont buy that. Now, the self-acclamied firewire is supposedly fast and boasts nice quality with recordings. But in all reality, the interface's perfomance relys on the quality of its Drivers. Drivers are VERY important when buying an interface. The drivers with the 410 were terrible. They drop in and out while using Reason Cubase or FL Studio. Its a great interface when its working, but with drivers dropping in and out like that, thats not what i want while recording. Thirdly, the Toneport UX2. Let's make a checklist shall we?

Drivers: Great, fast, and easy to setup. ASIO has made a custom driver solely for this interface. (ASIO Toneport) Which is awesome.
Compatibility With Other Software: GRRRRREAT! lol but really. I use reason and FL for making beats, and Cubase and Ableton Live Lite (which comes with the toneport) for production/recording etc. The performance I get from my Toneport is rather flawless. But, all computers are different, so I dont want to make any promises, But I think that the Toneport is the by far the BEST interface in it's price range, for either a musician or a vocalist. Its the compete package.

In case you were curious, here is a sample of a track I produced in house with my Toneport UX2 for vocals.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/176329743713b431/

I produced the entire track (including beat) This includes NO ADLIBS. But that is the quality you can achieve with a 50$ mic (MXL 990) With the Toneport.

Still Curious?

http://line6.com/toneportux2/tour2.html

Watch those videos and see how the Toneport is clearly the best performer in its class.

Now damn...Line6 should pay me now for this hahaha.

And (drum roll please) suprisingly, the Toneport UX2

By teh way zae. maybe you should do a product review for the toneport so you dont have to do this long description for people everytime this question comes up because it comes up quite frequently. might be easier for you  if you just refer people to the product review link everytime someone asks. Just a suggestion.

lol, yea fo show, and speakin of the one u said, i guess i got a real good one. this is my only interface and my best interface

so i was in a decision like u RB. Between the Toneport and the Inspire

here are the reason i choose inspire over toneport *btw, i mean im not sayin it sucks its surely a great interface but here are the reason i chose over

1. Presonus Specializes in Audio Recording hardware and line6 is main focus is on Guitar Amps *btw which are pretty good
2. All the dudes at GC say that Inspire is better for Vocs but Line6 bout obviously be better in Guitar
3. The toneport didnt have any VISTA support divers, and the thing is, everything is turning vista, and i dont want to get a interface which can only be used on XP *i had to turn down ALOT of interface because of this issue.
4. I wanted to have sum RCA inputs and outputs for future use of monitors, and another thing, wen i do get monitors, i'll be still using my normal speakers for a secondary monitor, and since normal speakers come in 1/8th inch. This interface suited me.
5. The ability to daisy chain. which means i can connect up to 4 inspires together makin one big ass interface, which MABY i need in the future.

Thats bout it. dont get me wrong, the toneport is prolly a good interface i woulda gotten it, but it was a damn hard choice, but in the end the inspire suited me more.

Wit the input output ish, u could fix the prob wit a mixer, but atm i aint got money or anything. So this is nice to have mostly all i need in one.

yeah i feel your reasons saha. basically the main reason i got hte toneport ux2 was for the guitar amps cause im a guitarist. but i was suprised to the customiziation i can do with teh vocals preamps. but i dont have any expiernece with the presonus, but from what ive heard from you, its a good piece of hardware.

but saha why do u want rca's instead of 1/4 cables for your monitors? if your gonna buy monitors of course you want the best quality, and RCA's certainly wont give that to you. try googling it for the reasoning cause i dont got much time on here. But 1/4 or XLR (preferablly XLR) is the way to go w/ monitors.

Yeah but its still better to connect ur "semi-pro" synth or any other equipment with RCA, and just to conect monitors he could eazely buy some 20$ behringer mixer for it (that he'll again connect hes presonus on it with RCA)

yea, i was wondering bout the quality, if its that case, ima get a mixer OR get an adapter to change my 1/8th stereo inch to 2 1/4th inch mono. (would that work?)

but slavebell we were talkin about monitors not "semi pro" synthesizers. But wow saha i just looked up your inspire and there is no main ins for monitors ne ways. So your going to have to go with RCA cables. If you want to use XLR or TRS cables you'll need to buy a mixer and risk little static noises with headphone use. most dont do that, just make sure yours doesnt first. thats alot of corners to cross for just an interface. id say the toneport is still the easiest for doing it all on ONE piece of hardware. which is exactly waht i needed.

ahh i love the toneport, quick easy ins for monitors. :D

the RCA was the "suggested" monitor outputs...lol... like if RCA vs. Intrument Cable is like a HUGE difference then i'll change but if its minor and i dont really notice it. im cool.

Wen i get more stable in my production im thinkin of gettin a mixer like 12 track one. I mean a mixer is sorta neccesary, coz basically a interface is just allow ur Analog Inputs into u comp, and a mixer is sorta need if u are using a TurnTable Synths, mics and then u got like ur different pairs of speakers (the mackie Onyx had EVERYTHING chek that out btw, the reason why i didnt get it coz of DRIVERS!!)

also the toneport had one headphone jack and 2 mono outs (if im not mistaken), on the inspire i got a lil few more of outs. and i if needing can connect a turntable into the interface. But atm i dont use monitors and my speakers are 1/8th inch. Thats why i choose this one. It suits me more, and in ur case the toneport suits u perfect.

All in all though both these Interface;s are VERY nice, its up to u and wat suits u the best.

also chek out the Mackie Onyx Satilite <
