In this world, people come and go in the music industry. Coming in with one hit wonders to being extravagant musicians. We all know who the big producers are but we all don't know the little guys, from the Warbeats members to the kid down the street making hits. When we producers look out for new talent, we find several producers that have talent but no drive. This article here is about the big producers vision, and how they continue to have that drive, not from the hefty check coming in from there super production.

Welcome, for those of you that do not know me, I'm JHill. I'll be bringing you a Warbeats exclusive article straight out of my mastermind. Alot of people ask me, how do you have all this knowledge on the (internal industry) *will explain later on in article

Coming from a very musical family, I have learned a lot about several Do's & Don'ts. I have sat down in major label conference rooms and listened and chatted among several head executives learning the industry from the Corporate  / Producers vision. You have to understand that this is not easy, nor is it hard. You just have to have that drive. With the drive in life you can experience anything your mind can dream of and more than likely conquer it. Now lets discuss industry terms.

First and foremost, yes money in the bank is your main focus because thats how you eat and support your family or wants. But your main focus should be something else much more cherishable than money. "Publishing rights" This should be your main focus especially in your earlier years of production. A lot of producers are practically giving away beats that could be worth millions, sales going for 20-30 bucks. Come on guys, look at it like this, if the artist wont pay you for beats, he/she isn't serious about the music industry. Implant that into your brain. Don't let the local record companies fool you and tell you that you will get paid once the album is complete. That is an old man's tale that is a bunch of bullish unless you have the contracts built like that with publishing rights involved, basically the whole 9 yards. I could go on & on about how many times I have encountered this, and shut down complete contact with these idiots.

Second, one word.....Management! Ever since I got management I have been in so many peoples ears its sad. Now don't just get any kind of management, find you someone that will get you placements and such because thats where the big money comes from, placements on major label albums. Once you get placements, get your publishing rights, because its nothing better than getting a hit record on 50's new album or someone in that matter and getting a platinum plaque on your wall for show with a 500,000 dollar check.

Management is one of the most tossed around word in the industry. Whenever an artist says they don't know about something they have to speak with their manager, please don't think that is a false statement. That is REAL. The true manager doesn't give their artist any leadway unless approved by the management. My manager comes to me and says, look we got two A&R's looking for beats for Jeezy and Britney Spears. Go get their music, feel it and create. Within 1 week we usually come together and make about 30 beats per artist. We blast snippets of our beats untagged to trusted A&R's in our group and if wanted for further review, we will travel to deliver the protools session. If an artist or agency says you pay for the flight, usually means they aren't favoring your beat and want to hear other beats you have. 95% of the time they pay for the travel and room, because they feel you will cut them a deal or something who knows. lol :::... Well enough of that...

Alot of people have asked on the request thread, how long does it take to become famous or to get a hit song on the radio. Remember this in your adventure over time; being a known producer with a hit radio track can happen overnight. I have seen it multiple times. Take this artist for example: Where did Jibbs come from. He came out of no where with 2 huge tracks, became a millionaire and wam, he's set. Look at Solja Boy, lol, he became a millionaire and wam, he's set. All those were over night things. Literally. Should I go on. So focus on getting GOOD management and start getting your beats blasted out there to the trusted industry.

Signing off for now
